Attend Job Fair on February 8th
CLICK HERE to view the PDF Registration

FROM:  U.S. Congressman Erik Paulsen
I want to invite your organization to participate in the Job Fair I will be hosting on Monday, February 8, 2010. The event will be held from 1:30pm to 5:00pm in the cafeteria at Normandale Community College, 9700 France Avenue South, in Bloomington.

Table space will be provided for each business so employers may set up booths and have the opportunity to speak on the specifics of their industry and possible opportunities for job seekers. There are no fees associated with participation or admission.  All of us have been affected in some way by the recent recession and many of us know someone who has lost their job. The current unemployment rate is still high, yet many businesses have jobs available. I hope this event will provide a mutually beneficial opportunity to both employers and potential employees to connect and learn about the great resources we have in our community. The experience and education levels of attendees will be varied and diverse.  We will be promoting the Job Fair widely through local media outlets and local organizations. I invite you to visit the job fair link at my website at
www.paulsen.house.gov/ or contact Dan Wick on my staff at 952-405-8510 or Dan.Wick@mail.house.gov for more information and to confirm your attendance. Please fill out the enclosed registration form and email it to my office by January 29, 2009, so that we may better prepare the available space for all vendors.

PROP MOVING TO A NEW LOCATION!
PROP (People Reaching Out to People), a food shelf and support service for Eden Prairie and Chanhassen residents in need, is moving from its city hall location to a newly acquired facility at 14700 Martin Drive, near the Prop Shop. PROP has experienced a consistent increase over the last several years in the number of clients it serves -- now averaging 125 clients accessing services per week. As a result, additional space is needed for shelves to store the necessary food and to provide room for volunteers to fill food orders. At PROP’s current location, there is no office space for professional staff to meet with each client, as required, to connect them with resources and to develop plans for future self sufficiency. We have simply run out of room!

PROP’s move to a new location was initially financed by a HUD (Housing and Urban Development) grant. PROP will be launching a Capital Campaign to support the additional costs for the purchase, construction and operating costs for the larger building. A wish list has also been created in anticipation of the move. Please consider these items and if you are able to help, we greatly appreciate. If you have questions about PROP’s growth, move and capital campaign, contact PROP’s Executive Director at 952 294-5970 or
anneh@propfood.org. Thank you!

PROP’s Move- “Wish List”

"The Eden Prairie Chamber has provided my business with countless new leads and has accounted for nearly $50,000 of new business. Hands down the money spent on the Chamber has the most return dollar for dollar than any other advertising that I could do. The networking possibilities are endless and working with the Chamber takes very little time -- the return is easily 10-fold."
