Attendees went around to sample each beer and hear from the breweries. All eight breweries had at least three beers, some having four! They were also given a ballot and used it to vote on which beer was their favorite. Once the ballots were collected and the votes counted, Pat Mulqueeny, EPC President, got up on stage with Jeff Filipek from Southwest, Lori Syverson from Edina, and Kim Hanson from Bloomington, recognized the breweries, then announced the winner.
Although there was a tie all the way up until the last few ballots were turned in, thisyear’s winner of “Best Beer 2018” was the Code 3 IPA from Wooden Hill Brewing Companyin Edina! This beer is described by Wooden Hill as “Our tip of the hat to thebrave men and women of the EMS community, a Code 3 is the radio code for alights and sirens response. This bold IPA is triple-hopped with Mosaic, Citra, and Cascade.” As the winner, the IPA will be featured on tap at Bowlero for amonth so stop in to get a taste!
Each brewery brought great beers, and great fun, to the event and made this Beers w/ BEERSthe best one yet! Thank you to our participants and attendees for spending the night with us and we hope to see you next year!
