As we kick-off 2018, I would like to highlight a few new opportunities and ways for our members to be involved. Your membership in our organization gives you and your fellow employees the opportunity to use all programs, services and promotions to benefit your organization.
Public Policy issues – yes – public policy does mean politics in many cases, but being involved and having your voice heard is important. As we have seen in Minneapolis and St. Paul, business issues and local ordinances are unfortunately impacting businesses in a big way. Our organization wants to hear your stories and concerns – you will see a membership survey coming soon via e-mail. Please take a few minutes to go through and answer our questions and share your top issues. You can e-mail me these as well at firstname.lastname@example.org – please share the concerns you have and issues you want the Chamber to weigh-in on.
Election year – 2018 is an election year and the Chamber will be hosting candidate programs, endorsing at certain levels and asking the candidates about key business issues. We plan to engage the candidates on our top business issues and to be sure they understand the opportunities and concerns our businesses have and how our elected officials can help.
Business Roundtables – the Chamber will be kicking off our business roundtables. These are designed to be smaller groups of owners of businesses sharing ideas, best practices and learning from each other and our facilitator/speaker. Look for these opportunities in coming communications or e-mail me to be added to our invite list!
Please check out our website with the most up-to-date program information. Be sure to attend the State of the City address on Thursday, January 18, 11:00 – 1:00 at Olympic Hills. This is a great program to learn more about Eden Prairie from our city, school district and Chamber!
We look forward to your involvement and thank you for your support. Make 2018 the year your organization maximizes its membership benefits!
